I've always liked Honda's small turbo engines when the owner respects the oil. The 2024 CR-V 1.5T is easy to service, but this is still a turbocharged daily driver with a small sump. That means the right viscosity, the right washer, and the right fill level matter more than people think.
Most dealers land somewhere around $95-$130 for this service. I can do it at home for about $35-$45 in parts and know the turbo isn't living on bargain-bin oil.

Oil note: Honda calls for 0W-20 full synthetic here. On a turbo engine, I don't freelance the viscosity. Cold-start flow matters, especially if the CR-V lives on short trips.
Filter note: Honda 15400-PLM-A02 is common enough that I keep one around. Cheap filter, easy part number, zero reason to stretch an extra interval because you forgot to buy one.

Step-by-Step Oil Change
1. Warm the Engine Briefly
I let the CR-V idle for about 5 minutes, then give it a few minutes to cool off. Warm oil drains better. Burning yourself to save two minutes is bad garage math.
2. Raise the Front and Open Access
Use ramps or a jack with stands. Remove or fold back the lower splash panel section so you can reach the drain plug and filter cleanly.
3. Drain the Oil
Put the drain pan under the oil pan and remove the 17mm drain plug. Let it drain fully. The CR-V only holds 3.9 quarts, so it goes pretty quickly, but I still give it a full 7 to 8 minutes.
Remove and discard the old 94109-14000 crush washer.
4. Replace the Filter
Remove the old 15400-PLM-A02 filter, wipe the mounting surface, make sure the old gasket came off with it, and lightly oil the new gasket with fresh 0W-20 before installing the new filter hand-tight plus about 3/4 turn.
5. Reinstall the Drain Plug
Install a new 94109-14000 washer, thread the plug in by hand, and torque it to 29 lb-ft (39 Nm). The pan is aluminum. Aluminum only gives you one warning.
6. Refill with Oil
I start with 3.5 quarts, run the engine for about a minute, shut it off, wait 5 minutes, then check the dipstick. Final capacity is 3.9 quarts with filter.
Small turbo engine, small sump. This is not the time to free-pour the whole bottle and guess.
7. Check for Leaks
Inspect the filter and drain plug area with the engine running. If it stays dry, you're done with the important part.
8. Reinstall the Panel and Reset the Minder
Reinstall the splash panel clips and reset the Maintenance Minder through the cluster or infotainment maintenance screen.
CR-V 1.5T Notes That Matter
- Stay on top of the interval: Small turbo engines don't reward laziness.
- 3.9 quarts means use the dipstick: Overfill is easy here.
- Don't reuse Honda washers: That's the usual source of the annoying drip afterward.
