Clicking Noises
Ticking/Tapping — Engine Bay, Tied to RPM

Clicking When Turning (Front Wheel Drive)
A rhythmic click that increases in frequency as you turn and accelerate: CV axle/CV joint failure. The outer CV joint is clicking.
Diagnosis test: Turn the wheel full lock in the direction that clicks, then drive slowly in a circle. If the clicking is loud and rhythmic, the outer CV joint boot is torn and the joint is worn.

Squeak over bumps, turning, in/out of vehicle:

- Strut mount bearing — squeaks when turning, often worse in cold weather
Squeak from under the front end on acceleration: Motor mount contact — worn motor mounts allow the engine to rock and contact the frame.
Squealing Belt
A high-pitched squeal from the engine bay that is load-dependent (gets louder when accessories turn on: A/C, steering):

- Tensioner pulley bearing failure: Squeals constantly regardless of accessories
